Class Schedule JULY – OCT 2008

We’ve got a great lineup of teachers and classes.  Join us for a summer learning experience! 

Aug 4, Join Pogo for “This & That” class, 10 – 1pm. $21.00.  Each month we will be doing a small project.  August will be “Smart Bags”, they are a great bag for gifts, kids, totes, etc.  Do you need to know how to measure and cut borders, bias binding and/or backing for your quilt?  This is the class for you, we’ll cover it all! We’ll also make pillowcases to match your quilts.  Let us know what you would like to learn and we’ll do our best to share our knowledge.

Aug 6th, Janome Customizer Software Class, with Joyce Byars.  6 – 9pm.  The customizer software is so user friendly and will expand your ability to be very creative.  You must have customizer experience before you can move forward with the “5 Lil Monkey” quilt.  This software is so much fun and gives you a great deal of flexibility with your embroidery ideas. 

Aug 9, 16 & 30, Machine Quilting Class with Peggy Barkle.  Want to learn from the best?  Now is your chance!  Peggy will teach you just how easy FREE MOTION QUILTING is.  10am – 1pm.  $63.00, 3 sessions. 

Aug 13th , Stash Pot Pie #3 , the quilt sample is in the shop for you to see.  Pam made this one from her stash.  It’s a beauty.  10:30 – 12:30pm.  $10 & FREE pattern.  Sign up and receive your recipe card with cutting instructions.  Stash is a must!

Aug 15, 16, 17, & 18, Stitch N Sisters weekend!  Another great weekend.  See you here!

Aug 15th, Baltimore Album for beginners, 7 – 9pm. Continues.  Are you a needle turn appliquér?  This just might be the next step you want to take.  Ask about club fees.

Aug 18th, Bloomin’ 9 Patch, you asked for it during the week.  Sign up now and learn this wonderful quilt from Joyce Selin.  10am – 5 pm.  $49.00

Aug 20th, Machine Embroidery Day & Nite Club.  10 – 1 pm and/or 6 – 9pm.  Day club has begun the 5 Lil Monkeys quilt, but it’s not to late to start yours.  If you don’t have Customizer software experience, see the Aug 6th class and join the group.  You’ll need this experience to place your multiple monkeys in the blocks. 

Aug 21st or the 23rd  Thimbleberries Club, meets 6 – 9pm on Thursday evening and 10 – 1pm on Saturday.  Ask about club fees.

Aug 22nd Baltimore Ladies, continues.  Do you have experience in Baltimore album designs?  Join these ladies as they put together the most gorgeous Baltimore blocks.  Plan to enter a block, blocks, quilt in progress or complete Baltimore quilts in our Baltimore Album Show,  Nov 11 – 16, 2008.  This will be spectacular!!!

Aug 24th The Tangled Threads Doll Club meets, 2 – 4 pm.  Would you like to learn about doll making?  Join these ladies on the 3rd Sunday of each month.

Aug 27, Sept 3 & 10, Christmas Ribbon with Joyce Selin.  This quilt is back by popular demand.  We have 2 samples in the shop.  Sign up now for this class. 6 – 9pm.  $63.00.

Sept 8th, This & That with Pogo Grant.  10 – 1pm … we’ll be listening for your request for this class.  Lots to learn!  $21.00

Sept 10th Stash Pot Pie #4… 10:30 – 12:30, another opportunity to use up your stash.  $10.00 and you’ll receive a free pattern.  Lots of help and a cute quilt.  Sample is a doll quilt but you can make it as big as you like.

Sept 8, 15 & 22, Taste of Quilting, for the beginner.  This is a great class to learn the basics of rotary cutting, measuring, and piecing a quilt top.  You’ll learn lots of tips and tricks to make your experience great!  6 – 9pm, 3 sessions $63.00.

Sept 10, Machine Embroidery Day Club, 10 – 1pm, $15.00.  This date is a change from the norm of 3rd Wed.  The day club continues with the 5 Lil Monkeys quilt.  Again, it’s not too late to join in this quilt.  It will be an on-going project.

Sept 15, 22, & 29, Beginning Hand Appliqué, 10 – 12:30 pm.  An opportunity to learn the art of needle turn for the best.  Joyce Selin has many years of experience and you’ll love learning from her.  $52.00.

Sept 17th Machine Embroidery Nite Club meets, 10 – 1pm and/or 6 – 9pm.  This is a fun club.  Club fee is $15.00 for each session.  The nite club begins the 5 Lil Monkeys quilt.  If you’ve never been to the club, stop in and see what it’s all about.

Sept 19, 20, 21 & 22 is once again the Stitch In Sisters weekend.  Club fees apply.  Discounts on club kits and backing for these kits.

Sept 26, 27, 28 & 29 MINI FALL STITCH-IN, 9AM – 9PM !!!  The stitch-in will be Fri – Mon.  If you were unable to attend the Summer Stitch-In and would like to get in on the Mini Fall, drop in or give us a call and we can reserve your spot with your credit card.   9am – 9pm,     1-Day $35,     2-Days $55,     3-Days $75,     4-Days $95.  (my apology, there was a miss print in the previous class schedule for pricing).

Oct 6th, This & That, 10 – 1, $21.00.  Pogo will help you complete your beginner quilts, figure your backing, add your binding so it appears seamless, and answer any questions you may have.

Oct 8th Stash Pot Pie #5, watch for the sample to be in the shop in the near future.

Oct 9 – 12th Anniversary Quilt Show & Sale, this will be 6th anniversary.  We are so pleased to once again bring to you quilts made by local and long distance quilters.  This is a show for fun, not a juried show.
